in Frequent Questions and Answers on Magnet Therapy

Magnet strength is measured in Gauss. Each magnet is given a Gauss rating by the manufacturer – however some abuse this by using the core Gauss rating to indicate the strength of their product whereas the surface Gauss rating is a better indication of its strength. Magnets used in magnet therapy are generally between 300 and 3000 Gauss. To put this in perspective a fridge magnet is around 20 Gauss.
